At Bottle Rocket, our people are our greatest strength. We believe in diversity, inclusion and racial equality for everyone each and every day of the year. We know we have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but we also know that we are taking steps in the right direction.
transparency IS THE ONLY WAY.
CALVIN CARTER, FOUNDER & CEO OF BOTTLE ROCKET
While still overwhelmingly male, Bottle Rocket is in line with Apple and Google in our overall gender diversity and ahead in the gender diversity of our leadership team. This is due to the male predominance in Engineering. That is why it is imperative that we encourage and support women in Technology initiatives.
Going forward, we will continue to pay attention to this imbalance and take action to even out our gender discrepancy.
We have made progress in the last decade, but we know there is a lot more work to be done. It’s part of our commitment to creating a truly diverse and inclusive Bottle Rocket.
In 2020, the majority of new hires were in the 20-29 and 30-39 age group, thus evening out our diversity a bit more in regards to age.
While our efforts to improve our ethnic diversity have improved, three-quarters of our workforce is still predominately white. This is where we need to work on ourselves the most. Though our progress has been limited somewhat by our geographic location, Bottle Rocket will find new ways to build a more racially diverse workforce. With the continued growth of the DFW area and our new Work from Wherever policy, we have a greater opportunity to champion inclusion and diversity over the next few years.

McKinsey’s research shows that gender-diverse companies are 21% more likely to outperform their peers, and ethnically diverse companies are 33% more likely to do the same.
Census data tells us that by 2050 there will be no racial or ethnic majority in our country. Further, between 2000 and 2050 new immigrants and their children will account for 83 percent of the growth in the working-age population.
Boston Consulting Group found that companies that reported above average diversity on their management teams also reported a 19% higher innovation revenue than companies with below-average leadership diversity.
Be better. Try harder. Be a model for others. The digital products and experiences we create are made to serve everyone. Our people are reflected in everything we create and we’re excited to continue our diversity journey that can only help us make even better products for our customers and the world.
